God Love!
There is probably no other word that is more confusing, more misunderstood or more diminished in its significance and meaning, than the word LOVE. Although love does involve feelings, it is so much more than just feelings. Although it includes emotions, many times those emotions are abused and misused. While love does include sentiments, it is far more than sentimental desires which can fluctuate from day to day. As we all know, feelings, emotions and sentiments in this life can change from moment to moment. However, God Love, His unlimited and unconditional love, should always be observed and expressed in the life and behavior of us His children.
As God children, when we have questions about how we should demonstrate God Love we simply need to look at the life of Jesus and meditate on His words. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. That is not a sentimental, emotional, or feeling type of love. That is an unconditional love that was initiated by God and demonstrated in the life of His Son, to be seen in and through our lives. God Love is the foundation of all relationships: first in our relationship with Him and also in our relationships with all others. God Love can unite people in spite of our flaws, faults, and foolish deeds. So, as we walk in the light of the last Advent candle, let us demonstrate God Love in this dark, broken world. Let us rejoice in the true meaning of God love, only found in the Christ Child that we celebrate this week. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”
Merry Christmas!
